Pula

The Pula Arena is the only Roman amphitheatre to have four side towers entirely preserved, and is among the world’s six largest surviving Roman arenas. The arena is also the country’s best-preserved ancient monument. Today arena is used as a venue for many concerts, such held by Luciano Pavarotti, Leonard Cohen, Tom Jones and Grace Jones. It has a capacity of about 5000 spectators and also hosts operas, ballets and sports competitions as well as the famous Pula Film Festival. The Pula Arena hosted the first hockey match ever held in a building of this kind.
