Zagreb, Croatia, July 29, 2026 – Mlinar, part of the Croatian investment group BOSQAR INVEST (BOSQAR d.d. – ZSE: BSQR), is investing €12 million in a significant expansion of the production capacity of its burek factory in Osijek.
This is one of the company’s largest individual investments in production capacity in recent years, through which Mlinar is responding to continuously strong demand for burek across the markets in which it operates.
The project includes the acquisition of a new, fully automated burek production line, whose capacity will be equal to the combined capacity of the factory’s existing four production lines.
Upon completion of the investment, Mlinar will double the production capacity of its Osijek factory and further improve production efficiency, supply flexibility and readiness for continued growth in existing and new markets. At the same time, the investment will create the conditions for stronger export growth in international markets outside the region, where Mlinar is already generating sales.
As the leading burek producer in the region, Mlinar is further strengthening its production platform through this investment. At the same time, the expansion of capacity is expected to have a positive impact on further employment growth in Osijek, continuing the production site’s development over the past several years.
Since 2021/2022, Mlinar has created more than 230 new jobs at its Osijek factory.
“This investment is a natural continuation of our growth and a response to continuously increasing demand for products in the burek category. The new production line will enable us to double our capacity, further improve operational efficiency and ensure a high-quality and reliable supply to all markets in which we operate. At the same time, this investment confirms our long-term commitment to the development of domestic production and the strengthening of Mlinar’s production capacities in Croatia,” said Mladen Veber, President of the Management Board of Mlinar.
The investment in the Osijek factory is part of Mlinar’s long-term strategy of continuously investing in production modernization, technological development and capacity expansion, enabling the company to keep pace with business growth and further strengthen its leading position in the bakery products market in the region.
