All sweets lovers are familiar with Mađarica, but few people know that it does not really come from Hungary (“Mađarska” is the Croatian word for “Hungary”). It owes its name to its similarity to two Hungarian desserts, the Dobos cake and the Zserbó cake. Mlinar’s delicious Mađarica cakes come from Croatia: they are made at Mlinar’s production plant in Osijek, and delivered to Mlinar stores across the country.
